About "ranking #1 on Google" — there are two different things this means, and it matters which one we're aiming for:
1. Paid ads (what this proposal covers). This is the "Sponsored" listing at the top of search results and on Shopping. It's controlled by budget and Quality Score — once live and tuned, BHC can appear in that top spot for the searches that matter, often within the first few weeks.
2. Organic ranking (SEO — already covered under your monthly maintenance retainer). This is the unpaid listing further down the page. It's earned through site content, backlinks, and time — not something ads can buy. For a broad term like "boho clothing Australia", BHC is competing with established players (Gypsy & Wolf, Tree of Life, The Hippie House, and others who've been building organic presence for years). Realistic timeline for a competitive term like that: 6–12+ months of consistent SEO work, and even then #1 isn't guaranteed. SEO work continues as part of the ongoing monthly retainer — it doesn't need to be part of this project.
The good news: paid ads can put BHC at the top immediately for the searches that matter most, while organic visibility builds in the background through the ongoing SEO work. The two work together — they're just different tools with different timelines, and both are already covered between this project and the monthly retainer.
What "visible on Google" realistically looks like over time
Weeks 1–3 — Setup & learning phase
Campaigns go live. Google's system is still learning what works — results during this window aren't representative yet. This is normal, not a sign anything's wrong.
Weeks 4–8 — Paid visibility stabilises
For the keywords we're actively targeting, BHC should be appearing at or near the top of paid results consistently. This is where the "#1" goal becomes real and measurable.
Months 3–6 — Optimisation
With enough data, underperforming keywords and audiences get trimmed, top performers get more budget. This is ongoing management, not part of this setup, but worth planning for.
Organic (parallel, ongoing)
Already underway through the monthly maintenance retainer. Expect 6–12+ months before competitive terms move meaningfully — that work continues in parallel, outside this project.

Keyword research & competitive landscape
Search campaign setup (already included above) covers core keyword research for the ads themselves. This add-on goes deeper: a full competitive scan of who's already ranking for BHC's key terms in paid search, so we choose ad keywords with a realistic shot at the top rather than ones already locked down by bigger, established competitors. Includes search volume estimates, competition level per keyword, and a shortlist of "winnable" terms to prioritise first. The same research can also inform the ongoing SEO work under the monthly retainer, at no extra cost.

At a realistic 4.8× return on ad spend, a A$1,000/month ad budget translates to roughly A$4,800 in monthly revenue — see the full breakdown below.
What this could realistically earn back
Based on published 2026 benchmarks for fashion & apparel e-commerce — not a promise, but a grounded starting point. Once campaigns are tuned, a 4.8× return on ad spend is a realistic target for this category. These figures are estimates and your results may land above or below them.
A$500 / month
A$2,400
~21 orders
A$1,000 / month
A$4,800
~41 orders
A$1,500 / month
A$7,200
~62 orders
These three budget levels are just for reference — you choose what feels right to start with, and we can adjust at any point. Order estimates based on the A$117 average order value already established from the email project. These numbers describe a tuned, performing account.
During the 2–3 week learning phase mentioned earlier, it's worth spending less than your chosen budget above — Google's system is still figuring out what works, so a smaller spend avoids wasting money while it learns. Once that phase is done and performance stabilises, you can move up to the budget level you're comfortable with.
The 4.8× figure above already reflects a realistic, well-performing fashion account — not the average across all of e-commerce. The same benchmark report shows top-performing categories like beauty reaching up to 6× return on ad spend, and fashion accounts with strong creative and consistent optimisation can move toward that range too — at a A$1,000/month budget, that would mean A$6,000 in monthly revenue, around 51 orders.
Built-in extras — no additional cost
A couple of things that come free with this setup, because the groundwork already exists from the email project.
Email segments become ad audiences
The customer groups already mapped out for email (lapsed buyers, non-customers, etc.) can also be uploaded to Google as targeting lists — so someone who's getting a win-back email can also see a relevant Google ad. One data set, two channels.
A starting "do not show for" list
Terms like "boho" and "hippy" also bring up festival decor and second-hand clothing searches that have nothing to do with BHC. I'll build a starting exclusion list before launch, so budget isn't spent on clicks that were never going to convert.
Before we go live
- Agree on what counts as a conversion (purchase, add-to-cart, newsletter sign-up)
- Confirm the daily/monthly ad budget with you
- Quick site check — page load speed on mobile, since Google factors this into ad performance
- Confirm shipping and returns info is visible on product pages
- Starting exclusion list in place so budget isn't wasted from day one
To be clear: the A$1,240 covers the one-time setup only — getting everything built, tracked, and live correctly. Ad spend itself goes directly to Google, and ongoing campaign management after launch is a separate conversation if and when you want it.
